How to get started
Although we are located in Southern California, we are able to accept milk from donors throughout the United States. A variety of interlocking measures are taken to identify and qualify suitable donors. It should be noted that prospective milk donors are not offered any financial incentives.
- Review the pre-qualification guidelines. If after reviewing the pre-qualification guidelines you feel you may be an eligible donor, you'll need to complete an application.
- Complete the application on-line.
- Once we receive your completed questionnaire, we will contact you to discuss your eligibility status.
- Next you will need to get a signed Medical Release form from your Physician and your child's Physician.
- After we receive your consent forms we will issue you a donor test kit. Milkin' Mamas will arrange for a traveling phlebotomist to come to your home to perform a blood draw. You will also need to provide a DNA cheek swab test. These samples will be sent to a lab for processing. All testing and shipping will be provided by Milkin' Mamas at no cost to you.
- Once your results are confirmed and you are eligible to donate, we will deliver to you:
- An electric breast pump, if needed
- Milk storage bags and preprinted barcode labels
- Thermometer for your freezer
- Instructions for proper collection and storage of expressed breast milk.
